From boat sails to sun loungers fabrics
When we started our company we produced cotton sails for fishing boats (“trabaccoli” and “lancioni”) as well as bed linens and tablecloths.
Between the 50s and 60s we started producing fabric for shades, which were commonly used on the beach at the time.
It is during the years of Romagna’s touristic boom when Dino Selva starts to use sturdier, more durable and colorful fabrics, which will go on to substitute the hemp canvases used for beach loungers.
During the following years materials would change, hemp canvases would be replaced by synthetic fabrics and aluminum frames would take the place of wooden ones.
Beaches everywhere would start to color and new tendencies, of which we have been the founders, would start to spread.
